Single best path forward: Backup the files from old Mac server to a known-good external drive (formatted HFS+ Journaled), copy those onto the new Mac server. How much time would you invest in trying to remedy bizarre behavior in file sharing off of an old Win XP box to Server 2019 ?
What am I missing? Or what's the next rookie step?ġ0.6 is a bit of ancient archeology. I'm running a CCC copy job from old to new on the new Mini and that can't see them either. I can't see a pattern in file types either - most are simple jpegs.
I do the same GEt Info from the new Mini and I can't see any differences in the permissions as seen from both machines. I assumed a difference in permissions but I connect to the old Mini from the new using the same account as is used on the old (macadmin) - but I still can't see them.ĭoing a Get Info on a missing folder back on the old Mini says Read/Write for macadmin (me), same on the folder above it. I can see them logged as as my admin account - 'macadmin'.įrom my new Mac Mini 10.14, I can only see 95% of the files and folders.
The users from their Macs can see/edit them all fine. I have an old Mac Mini 10.6.8 server with a bunch of the usual varied user files - docs, jpg, pdfs. I'm not a Mac expert so I'm sure I'm missing something obvious - any help would be appreciated.
